KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2018: the main vendor announcements

This year saw the number of KubeCon attendees triple to 4,000

Last week over 4,000 developers descended on Copenhagen for KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2018, a conference about microservices, containers, Kubernetes and other open source application tools. Kubernetes is rapidly gaining acceptance and popularity within the enterprise sector as a container orchestration tool, as reflected in the fact that KubeCon hosted triple the number of attendees as it did in Berlin in 2017.

There were a number of announcements throughout the week. The Cloud Native Computing Foundation, which organises the event, unveiled a new Certified Kubernetes Application Developer programme and announced that it now has more than 200 members. A number of vendors made announcements too.

Here are some of the most significant pieces of news to emerge from the event, listed by vendor.
