AWS made a range of announcements to help customers with their IoT strategies.
First there is AWS IoT Device Management to securely onboard and manage devices at scale. This includes bulk registrations for fleets of devices, the ability to index and search that fleet, monitoring, and management, including automated software and firmware updates and patches.
IoT Device Defender has been announced (with no details on availability) for continuous auditing, real-time detection and alerting and alerts with mitigation advice for your fleet of IoT devices.
Then there is AWS IoT Analytics, available immediately.
According to Jassy, it was released because "some customers just want basic analytics to know what is happening with devices."
This analytics service is integrated with IoT Core so you can define a channel and select the data, and the service will ingest and configure, as well as enrich, filter or transform the data to start delivering insight straight away.
The service can be used to process messages, as well as gather and store large amounts of device data and then query that data.
