Device Remover 0.9 (beta)

Discover exactly what's running on your PC with this extremely powerful monitoring tool

Device Remover is an amazing (if very technical) Windows troubleshooting tool that comes packed with PC monitoring and management functionality.

As you might guess from the name, the program opens as a more powerful version of Device Manager, displaying installed devices and drivers and allowing you to remove these in bulk in just a few clicks.

It can also display all your Windows services, though, and start, stop, pause, restart, disable or delete any that you select.

Another tab displays a lengthy list of details on all the drivers running on your PC at the moment.

And the System Processes and Handles provides in-depth information on everything else running on your PC: Windows components, applications, the memory and system resources they're using, the DLLs they've loaded, the files they have open, and more.

You might think this would be enough... But the authors are only getting started. Click Tools > System and you'll find an option to view filtered devices, for instance, handy for troubleshooting (faulty DVD filters can prevent a drive from working properly). You can examine the power states supported by your devices. And it can try to find broken video or audio filters; delete locked files when you reboot; and back up all your drivers in just a few clicks, amongst many other options.

If you know your way around a PC then Device Remover will be invaluable, then. But if you don't, it could be very dangerous (this is one powerful tool). And as it's a beta, and likely to contain bugs, everyone needs to treat the program with caution.

The interface is so packed with information that it's sometimes hard to follow, but still, this has to be one of the most comprehensive PC monitoring tools around. Just be careful - make a mistake and it could quickly crash your PC
