Macs tend to try and be so simple that they forget that you need some kind of control. For example, although applications can often be deleted by dragging the app icon to trash, this doesn’t work for every application, particularly system deep tools. One way around this is to download the original installer as they often ship with an uninstall function so you can remove the original installation files. However, that’s not always the wisest way to remove files from your machine.
AppDelete is a simple tool that enables you to drag an app to the trash icon that it provides, then it will make sure all the relevant files associated with the application are deleted. This includes any widgets, preference panes and much more.
And that’s about it. There’s not much more to say. Sadly this isn’t a free tool, despite the rather limited functionality. What it does, it does well, but it’s basically just an uninstall tool and on Windows at least, a lot of these are free.
