Internet Explorer Administration Kit 10

Create custom versions of IE10 with your own default home page, search engine providers, accelerators, add-on software and more

The Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) is a powerful tool that allows you to create a customised version of Internet Explorer 10 (IE10). And so if you're about to deploy the browser across a network, say, then you won't have to manually tweak the program post-installation to get the results you need. The IEAK will allow you to customise many default aspects of IE10 to better suit your needs.

And so, for example, you're able to change all kinds of details in your personal version of the browser: title bar text, toolbar buttons, search engine providers, accelerators and more.

The IEAK also allows you to change several default settings. You can have your version of IE10 use Google (or whatever else you prefer) as its home page, for instance. You might also disable "Suggested Sites", have Compatibility View turned on or customise your browser user agent, amongst other options.

And perhaps most powerfully of all, you're able to add up to 10 components to install with Internet Explorer 9, allowing you to equip your PC with a full set of internet tools via a single installation process.

All these options are chosen via a simple wizard, and once you're done the IEAK will even build the custom installation package for you at a click.

Please note, the IEAK has a complex licence system that defines exactly what sort of customisations different types of users are allowed to make. If you're a home user who wants a custom IE10 for your own network, no-one's going to mind very much what you do, but if you're a business, or you intend to distribute your custom build then the position is more complicated. Check the Licensing Guidelines on Microsoft's site for more information.
