Wolseley, a distributor of heating and plumbing products to the professional market and supplier of building materials, has purchased on-demand software to manage company branding.
In an effort to coordinate common marketing activities throughout the Wolseley Group, the company was keen to find a platform where information could be shared. It has selected a suite of software tools to better manage the ordering, fulfilment and distribution of the company’s photography and brand logos.
The MediaWall system from marketing and communications web specialist, Concrete Group is valued in the region of £25,000 and is deployed on a software as a service (SaaS) basis.
Wolseley is a FTSE50 organisation with a network of over 4,200 branches around the world and employs over 70,000 staff. The new MediaWall web-based application will now enable communications teams and brand managers to share and distribute corporate photography and brand logos from any location and in any appropriate image format.
The application will also enable staff to request and receive modifications to any photography contained within the image library, allowing such requests to be processed immediately by external suppliers, without the need to use expensive courier distribution or traditional postal delivery methods.
Fiona McAllan, Wolseley Group internal communications manager said: “Given the international reach of Wolseley’s operations, the corporate communications department was looking for opportunities to share resources around the business, specifically with regard to photography and to establish best practice and a consistent look and feel to how Wolseley presents itself. We required a solution that was flexible and could be delivered in the short term but allowed the functionality of the application to be expanded in the future if required.
“We are also able to track the most popular materials that our users download. Our aim is to eventually set up different areas for each of the Wolseley operating companies and allow them to manage their own requirements.”
