Wolseley, the FTSE 100 distributor of plumbing and heating products, has deployed a new system to deal with its big data requirements.
The company is using the Axcelerate ECA (Early Case Assessment) & Collection system from Recommind, to support its worldwide trading operations.
Axcelerate ECA & Collection will enable Wolseley to preserve, collect, process, cull and analyse all electronically stored information, whatever its original location, as part of its evaluation of risk in its business processes.
The system includes predictive analytics and predictive coding functionality, which will enable Wolseley to locate and assess relevant files quickly and easily.
Ed Walker, regional general counsel for Wolseley, who led the big data project, said:“The Recommind solution was chosen for two main reasons - the power of its predictive coding technology and, more importantly, a user-friendly interface requiring minimal training to get results.
"In most cases 20 minutes training from an existing user is all that is required.”
Last month Wolseley signed an 18-month contract with Capita to implement and manage a network infrastructure and call handling system across 644 branches, which trade under brands such as Plumb Center, Parts Center, Pipe Center and Drain Center.
