Paperchase is implementing Coda’s Dream accounting software to improve database visibility for its finance department as it expands into the US.
The high-street stationer has more than 100 UK outlets and an "extensive" expansion plan across the Atlantic, which has meant improving transparency and efficiency has come to the forefront. Paperchase is installing the latest release of Dream, which has more process automation, helping the company to make time and cost savings.
Implementation began at the end of February, and Paperchase said it would go live in May. The software will run on the company’s Microsoft SQL Server 2005 system and Microsoft .NET technology, as well as interfacing with a merchandising system from Merret.
The firm has also purchased licences for CODA’s DreamView tool which builds upon Dream’s in-built browsing and reporting functionality. This will provide direct access to external reporting products, enabling the company to interrogate data and prepare custom reports.
Kevin Heath, UK finance head at Paperchase, said the firm had been looking for a system that was flexible and easy to use, and provided good visibility over the database. The Dream fully integrated ledger system met these requirements.
"I believe this product will give us a stable base to work from, create efficiencies across the department, allow us to easily interrogate the data and hence drive an informed approach to decision making," he said. "Our financial information will be more available and more useful, to the right people across the organisation."
