Financial services firm Fidelity Investments has announced plans to create 100 software jobs at its offices in Galway and Dublin.
The jobs will range from entry-level to management-level, and will be in the areas of software development, such as Java and .NET, performance and test engineering, database development and management, systems analysis and QA.
New employees will join the Fidelity Technology Group (FTG) division, which focuses on the company’s technology research, services and operations. At present, technology projects running at the FTG include voice recognition systems, business process management, user interface design and market data technology.
Fidelity is investing €11 million over three years in the recruitment drive, supported by Ireland’s development agency IDA Ireland. The agency said that Fidelity has one of the largest R&D divisions within the multinational financial services sector operating in Ireland.
The financial services firm began its Irish operations in 1996. Currently 240 technology staff work at the Galway and Dublin offices, which support the company’s global operations in areas including asset management, information security and enterprise infrastructure.
