Salesforce says its AppExchange has now seen two million installs since it was launched eight years ago.
The Salesforce marketplace offers products "to serve anywhere from five to 5,000 employees across an organisation," the company said.
AppExchange currently has more than 1,900 apps, and there are 10,000 installs a week, Salesforce said.
Leyla Seka, Salesforce VP of AppExchange and partner operations, said, "For the two millionth time a customer has chosen to avoid a messy RFP [request for proposal], procurement and installation process in favour of a pre-vetted, pre-integrated solution that just works right away.
"And for the 2 millionth time a customer has rejected the notion that enterprise software has to be a challenge to adopt."
Seka said it was "truly another great day for the cloud". She added, "When we first dreamt up this idea of a business app marketplace back in 2005, it was years before 'there’s an app for that' became part of the common vernacular. It took us six years to reach our first one million installs, but only the last two years to double it."
