Finance controls and automation software company BlackLine has won a global contract with international insurer RSA, which owns the More Than brand. Over 500 of RSA’s employees across the world will use BlackLine’s cloud-based technology.

The platform will be used to automate balance sheet reconciliation, increase productivity and mitigate risk in RSA's finance and accounting teams.

Dominic Willis, manager of RSA’s group finance systems, said: “When looking for a new system we wanted a more efficient, configurable and collaborative solution that could be used globally. We took this opportunity to look for a cloud-based solution that would bring all the RSA offices together on a consistent global platform, and the BlackLine module met all our requirements.”

He said the module was implemented with “minimal resources” and those using the tool find it “much faster and intuitive”.

BlackLine was selected following a recommendation by industry analyst Gartner on which vendors should be included in the RSA selection process.

Earlier this year, RSA signed a cloud contract with Amazon Web Services, which it said would trim 75 percent from its IT infrastructure costs. RSA is hosting its online RSA and More Than brands on AWS, as well as new digital services.

Also, this week, RSA, which also has an outsourcing agreement with Accenture, said it would be using bring your own device mobile technology from Good Technology to support its Latin America operations.
