Gatwick Airport has tendered for a SaaS-based identity management system that has the ability to work with other cloud-based applications.

Gatwick Airport has tendered for a SaaS-based identity management system that has the ability to work with other cloud-based applications.

The airport says its wants to "extend internal identity management frameworks to encompass authentication with third party cloud based applications".

With the three-year identification as a service (IDaaS) deal, Gatwick says it is "seeking to achieve benefits in the areas of increased security, improved user experience and reduced administration effort".

The contract will be for an intial three years, with a possible two further three-year contract extensions.

The airport has recently announced a clutch of cloud-based technology moves, including moving central databases into the cloud, cloud-based communications, and using the cloud to enable staff to efficiently share data amongst themselves to improve operations.
