The British Computer Society is seeking to promote IT excellence in small and medium enterprises with a new award.
A new category in the annual BCS IT Industry Awards for 2007 will highlight the contribution IT can make to the success of the UK’s 4.3m SMEs.
Businesses have until 12 July to enter for the SME award, one of 22 categories offering a chance to showcase IT achievements in companies of all sizes. Other award categories include project-based and individual excellence in areas such as mobile technology, social contribution, green computing and web-based technology.
BCS chief executive David Clarke said: “Our awards are a great showcase for professionalism in IT, highlighting the importance of technology within today's business environment where IT plays an integral role from the board room to customer communications.”
The BCS IT Industry Awards are organised in partnership with the National Computing Centre and IT suppliers’ body Intellect. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in December.
