Sheffield United Football Club has boosted invoice-processing productivity by 65% after deploying document management, imaging and workflow software in its accounts payable department.

The football club said the implementaion of Perceptive Software’s ImageNow toolset was crucial to cope with the growth in invoicing at the club, and since its introduction at least 260 extra invoices were being processed each month.

Deployment of the system took just five days, using LearnMode integration technology, and Jacqui Burgess, the club’s management accountant, said the system could now be rolled out to other parts of the organisation.

“We prefer flexible solutions that can be used in different areas,” Burgess said. “With ImageNow we didn’t just get one piece of software suited to accounts. “

Within the next few months, Sheffield United will begin using ImageNow to scan and link season ticket application forms to their ticketing system, to help streamline this paper-intensive process and remove the need to store hard copy application forms.

And the club is currently finalising the deployment of ImageNow to its sales ledger department for improved efficiencies within its accounts receivable function.
