Do undergraduates want a career in IT?

Many young people have a great interest in IT and are very sophisticated in their use of IT,yet the number of people studying computing/IT subjects appears to be falling faster than for other science and technology subjects.

Students on Non-IT degrees are reluctant to take up positions within the IT function. These issues need addressing at a time of skills shortages in the industry.
