Mike Simons, Editor, ComputerworldUK
Mike is the Editor of ComputerworldUK, joining IDG from Reed in 2006, where he worked on Computer Weekly and
Computerweekly.com since 1999. He was editor at the launch of ComputerWeekly.com in 2001 and news editor of a
combined Computer Weekly and ComputerWeekly.com operation from 2003. Mike helped Computer Weekly secure the
Periodical Publishers Association awards as either “magazine of the year” or “campaigning magazine of the year”
for four years out of five. Mike joined IDG as launch editor of ComputerworldUK and has recently also taken over
responsibility as editor if sister site Techworld. Mike also sits on the SAP Global Quality Awards judging panel.
Juergen Urbanski
After 10 years in Silicon Valley serving some of the largest enterprise technology sellers such as NetApp, HP, Oracle, Microsoft, SAP and
Symantec on product development issues, Juergen Urbanski has joined one of the top five European buy-side organisations in enterprise
technology to lead the CTO function for T-Systems, the €10 bn IT services division of Deutsche Telekom. As the Chief Technologist of
T-Systems, he is the top executive responsible for the development and application of innovative technologies with the goal of growing
revenue and profitability.
As the technical lead on Deutsche Telekom’s four-member group-wide Cloud Leadership Team, he is accountable for driving the transformation
of ICT services production towards cloud-enabled business outcomes such as rapid innovation, fast time to market, high capital efficiency
and advanced cloud security. He also oversees T-Systems' Global Architecture Function, comprising 70 architects and technical professionals
in the research, design and development of new ICT services. As a change agent tasked with driving innovation, he works closely with
C-level executives and other SVPs to develop the overall business strategy and drive how technology can better serve the goals of the
organization.
Martin Canning
Based in IDC's Amsterdam office, Martin Canning manages IDC's consulting business in Western Europe and is responsible for the successful
delivery of client projects across all areas of IDC's IT markets coverage. His organization works closely with IDC's clients to understand
their specific needs and requirements and to tailor solutions to support their business objectives. Canning joined IDC in October 1996.
Previous to this he spent over nine years at Lucent Technologies Network Systems (formerly AT&T Network Systems). During his time at
Lucent Technologies he held various positions including bids and proposals management for activities in the Russian market and product
management responsibilities for international markets. Before joining IDC he was a member of the International Customer Business Management
Group responsible for the definition and implementation of Lucent Technologies' market strategy in international network access markets.
Mette Ahorlu
Ms. Ahorlu provides research and consulting services primarily to IT services vendors and investment banks. Ahorlu is responsible for
the European Datacenter Life-Cycle Services program, which covers key topics such as datacenter transformation and cloud infrastructure
services, taking a holistic view of the different types of services involved, ranging from consulting and implementation to outsourcing,
managed services and support. Ahorlu's research on datacenter life-cycle services focuses on opportunities and challenges for service
providers, strategies and positioning, and end-user demands and needs, providing information and advice to support business plans and
go-to-market activities. Ahorlu has more than 15 years' experience in her field and over 20 years' experience in the industry. She
worked for IDC Nordic in telecoms and later services research for 10 years until joining the European services team in 2005. Prior
to joining IDC, she worked for Ericsson in Denmark and UNI-C, the Danish University Computing Center.
