HP has announced a new family of products called Secure Advantage, to secure data and verify its authenticity.

The new products were launched at HP's Technology Forum in Las Vegas. It contains an audit trail for policy monitoring and enforcement to help customers safeguard their intellectual property and provide validation with proof of compliance.

An appliance called Compliance Log Warehouse is based on an industry standard HP Integrity server. It collects and analyses log data and reports on variances in the data relative to a number of regulations, including the US Sarbanes Oxley Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

The new standards based Information Security Service Management (ISSM) reference model from HP Services advises organisations on managing and mitigating risk through the deployment of security controls.

HP ISSM is part of the new HP Service Management Framework, which provides a common language based on industry best practices and standards, such as Version 3 of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library and ISO/IEC 20000. The security portfolio's data protection capabilities also provide AES 256-bit encryption for the recently launched HP StorageWorks LTO-4 Ultrium1840 tape drives.

An anti phishing toolbar, a two factor authentication product, aims to reduce the costs of online fraud or phishing. It calculates a unique password from information provided by the user, the user's browser and the site being visited. The password it generates lets the toolbar send passwords to sites only when the site's certificate is present.

Finally, the HP Identity Centre tool is an identity and access package that automates the management of people, processes, security and compliance.
