The Apple II
The Apple II series, shown here with Disk II floppy disk drives and a 1980s-era Apple Monitor II, was introduced in 1977 at the West Coast Computer Faire and launched the Apple company into a successful business. Between five and six million were sold by the end of production in 1993.
Apple III
Released in 1980 for the business world and costing $7,800, the Apple III was considered a failure and dropped from the product line in September 1985.
The Apple Lisa
Development on the Lisa began in 1978. Steve Jobs was forced out of the project, named after his own daughter, and joined the Macintosh project instead...
The Apple Macintosh
Introduced in 1984 two years before Jobs left Apple, the Macintosh was the first commercially successful computer to feature a mouse and graphical user interface rather than a command-line interface.
The iPod
Jobs returned to Apple in 1999 with the revolutionary iPod released in 2001 not long after iTunes was launched.
The MacBook
The MacBook was introduced in January 2006, while this ultraportable MacBook Air was in stores two years later.
The iPhone
The first iPhone was unveiled by Jobs in January 2007 and released six months later, its interface built around a multi-touch screen and incorporating a virtual keyboard rather than a physical one.
The iPad
Jobs oversaw the iPad line of tablet computers designed by Jonathan Ive and released in April 2010 - 15 million were sold worldwide before the release of the iPad 2 in March this year.
