Airbus signs £10m outsourcing deal with Logica

Blended delivery model combines local and offshore resources

Aircraft maker Airbus has signed a three year outsourcing deal for software maintenance, service and support with Logica.

The contract combines local and offshore resources, with services delivered from sites in Hamburg and Toulouse, supported by a centre in Chennai, India, to cut development costs.

Airbus has contracted Logica to manage its document management, archiving, groupware and knowledge management applications.

“Our blended delivery model allows us to provide customers with a seamless network of international expertise and experience that can be leveraged to optimise cost and risk," said Torsten Strass, chief executive of Logica in Germany.

"Our customers will benefit from local teams on site and from international teams that have in-depth technical expertise and experience delivering large scale outsourcing projects.”
