Women in Technologyis launching its first event for female IT workers in Scotland, in partnership with Girl Geek Scotland and Shell.
The ‘Moving Beyond the Boy’s Club’ event will give women working in the industry an opportunity to network with each other, as well as listen to a keynote speech from executive women’s leadership coaching and development expert Dr Suzanne Doyle-Morris.
Doyle-Morris’s talk will feature advice on how to raise your profile as well as inspirational stories about strategies used by successful senior women.
It will then be followed by a panel Q&A session with Doyle-Morris, Jill Reid, senior legal counsel at Shell, Jeanette Yuile, senior project manager at subsurface and wells DRM lead Europe at Shell, and Women in Technology’s managing director, Maggie Berry.
The event will take place at 6pm on 10 May 2011 at the Hilton Doubletree Hotel, Beach Boulevard in Aberdeen. Tickets for the event cost £15, which includes a drink, a one-course meal and a free copy of Doyle-Morris’ book, ‘Beyond the Boys’ Club: Strategies for Achieving Career Success as a Woman Working in a Male-Dominated Field’.
