Shell has deepened its 15-year relationship with Accenture by awarding it a multi-year managed services contract to support engineering, production and process control across its operations.

Under the agreement Accenture will provide Shell’s Project & Technology (P&T) organisation with application management services, which will include the support, maintenance, enhancement and deployment of more than 260 applications. They will be in engineering and include real-time data-analytics of production operations and process control.

Shell said Accenture will support and maintain applications such as Oracle Primavera, Intergraph SmartPlant and OSIsoft’s PI System. Accenture’s Global Delivery Network locations in India will be used to deliver the services and create an "IT deployment engine".

In a previous contract, Shell outsourced its HR  to Accenture in 2012. Last month, Shell signed a long-term contract with SAP to help get more value from its current SAP investments and accelerate its transition to SAP HANA data analytics in the cloud.
