Article comments

The Cabinet Office has appointed Tim Kelsey as its new executive director for transparency and open data within the Efficiency and Reform Group (ERG).

Kelsey, who takes up the role immediately, is a former journalist who co-founded Dr Foster, an organisation that transformed transparency in the NHS by providing comparative information on health and social care services.

He also designed the national health information service NHS Choices.

Kelsey has been working on transparency with the ERG for the last six months, while on secondment from consultancy McKinsey & Co.
