Virgin Media and THECUBE announce joint testing deal during Cameron visit
Prime Minister's trip to Silicon Roundabout marks year of Tech City strategy

Virgin Media and start-up incubator THECUBE have used a scheduled visit by prime minister David Cameron to London's Silicon Roundabout area to launch a joint testing deal on Virgin's broadband, mobile and digital entertainment products.
Cameron's planned visit to east London was to mark one year of the government's Tech City strategy.

The Virgin/CUBE "Innovation Lab will see CUBE members "help evolve" Virgin Media products before they are launched to customers. The partnership will see Virgin Media’s marketing, technology, commercial and business teams hold seminars and workshops at THECUBE "to share their expertise and experience with the community".
As a result, Virgin hopes to tap into the best emerging talent and ideas promised by the Tech City initiative.
From this month, THECUBE will begin to trial a secure business grade internet connection from Virgin Media Business, reselling the dedicated 1Gb/s internet access on a flexible commercial basis to its own members. Virgin is providing the connection to the THECUBE for free.
Araceli Camargo, founder of THECUBE, said: "Virgin is bringing new services to our members, providing entrepreneurs with previously inaccessible technology, and we’re working with them to make the most of the talent at THECUBE."
Google recently announced that it would be setting up shop in the Silicon Roundabout area, with the government helping smaller technology organisations to do likewise.
