Ealing council signs £30m partnership deal with Serco
Contract includes incentives for investment

The London borough of Ealing has signed a £30m 10-year partnership deal with Serco that will see the two organisations jointly develop a range of business effectiveness initiatives.
The Service Ealing partnership contract includes an incentive element, offering Serco additional rewards for making investments in new developments.
Ealing council chief executive Darra Singh said the contract represented “best value in the ICT service market”.
Earlier this year, south London’s Southwark Council signed a £26m five-year contract with Serco to provide and manage its IT infrastructure in a move that will see the IT services provider overhaul its desktops, servers and applications and introduce thin-client technology across the organisation.
The IT services firm’s contract to provide a new payroll and HR system for Worcestershire county council ran into trouble in March, after a Serco laptop, containing sensitive data on more than 16,000 council staff, was stolen. Serco apologised for the security breach and agreed to pay costs after the theft.
