Primark owner implements ITSM
Associated British Foods wants shared services across 14 divisions

Associated British Foods is set to implement IT service management as part of improvements to shared processes.
The owner of the Primark clothes store chain will implement Assyst from supplier Axios Systems. ABF also produces food brands including Silver spoon sugar, Ryvita and Twinings tea, and is aiming for shared services across 14 divisions in the group.

Axios claims the Assyst system improves efficiency, cuts overheads and lowers the ownership cost of IT. Among other organisations, the software is also used by DIY store B&Q and its parent Kingfisher, as well as by Hull City Council.
ABF wants Assyst to present management with real time dashboards, as well as a ‘process designer’ that aims to simplify the design and execution of specific functions.
Assyst will go live at the company’s shared services centre this summer. After that, ABF will phase in the software across the 14 business units, over 12 to 18 months.
Neil Rudolph, service support manager at ABF, said the company had hired Dutch services provider Getronics to “review the market” and choose the most appropriate ITSM software.
