More PSN service providers announced

O2 and Level 3 are among the latest companies to have secured framework agreements to supply services to the government's Public Services Network (PSN).

The PSN establishes one network and marketplace for the procurement and delivery of public sector communication services across the UK.

Telefónica UK, which owns the O2 brand, secured its place on seven lots, spanning CCTV and physical security monitoring, conferencing, call contact centre, mobile voice and data, local area networks, gateway and the unified services lots.

Level 3 Communications has been named as a supplier for five service categories under the PSN, including communication services, conferencing services, contact centre services, gateway services and unified services.

“PSN not only has the potential to save the public sector a significant amount of money, it will also bring real benefits to government organisations, enabling access to new services and a more collaborative way of working,” said David Shields, managing director of Government Procurement Services.

“It’s a complex and challenging programme to deliver and it’s going to take time and effort and energy, but we are confident that we have the right providers in place to ensure the PSN Services framework is a success.”

The government announced a number of suppliers to supply connectivity services to support the PSN earlier this year.
