Bupa extends desktop services contract

Krome will be responsible for complete lifecycle maangement

Private healthcare specialist Bupa has signed a two-year contract extension for the provision of desktop fulfilment services with IT consultancy Krome Technologies.

Over the last four years, Krome has provided fulfilment services to Bupa's 40,000 staff members, deploying desktop hardware to more than 380 sites located across the UK.

Bupa’s head of presentation services Rob Lee said: “Krome’s focus on continual service improvement opportunities, combined with their desire to demonstrate their commercially competitive approach meant the decision to extend the contract was a relatively straightforward one.”

Krome takes on the complete lifecycle management of Bupa’s desktop, printer and server estate, administering all installations.

The consultancy is also responsible for imaging equipment and removing redundant hardware for recycling. The value of the contract extension has not been disclosed.

In another recent IT services deal, Countrywide, the UK’s largest property services company, signed a seven-year contract with CGI Group to upgrade and improve its technology and telephony platforms.
