CA offers global virtual mainframe education event

Interactive event to help users solve business challenges

CA Technologies is holding a worldwide, virtual, mainframe education event to help companies optimise their mainframe investments.

CA's May Mainframe Madness 2012 (MMM 2012) will deliver educational presentations throughout the month, using cloud, social media and software-as-a-service (SaaS) technologies.

‘Attendees’ will be offered hundreds of sessions, keynotes, demos and educational presentations and materials to address key business challenges, says CA. There will be "virtual show booths" and online chats also available.

“Our customers are looking for actionable information to help them contain costs, build necessary skill sets and develop best practices that increase agility to meet critical business needs,” said Dayton Semerjian, general manager for mainframes at CA.

Gartner consultant Howard Rubin will lead keynote sessions including "IT economics and mainframe efficiencies for large and mid-sized organisations", and "Rubin’s Law: why IT spending is about to hit the wall".

Earlier this year, leading firms complained that IT graduates were lacking much needed mainframe skills.
