Lyceum Capital consolidates IT outsourcing by bringing in BSG

Desktop to data centre service deal signed

Investment firm Lyceum Capital has consolidated its IT services work by signing a single five-year outsourcing deal with Business Systems Group (BSG).

Lyceum Capital is an independent investment firm that invests in mid-sized UK-headquartered businesses, and has acquired more than 60 businesses over the last ten years. It plans to invest a further £300 million in the UK over the next two to three years.

BSG is now Lyceum Capital’s sole IT partner, hosting and supporting its entire IT infrastructure from desktop and mobile phones through to the data centre.

Lyceum Capital was previously supported by two different IT providers - one managing the firm’s back-end infrastructure and the other dedicated to supporting the firm’s core application, Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
As Lyceum Capital continued to grow, it became evident that this arrangement was not sufficient for the firm's IT demands.

Andrew Aylwin, partner at Lyceum Capital, said, “The team started feeling that we were being held back rather than enabled by our IT systems. We needed a single, reliable supplier that could be trusted to provide our growing organisation with a robust IT infrastructure."

BSG will provide Lyceum Capital with an end-to-end IT support service from the desktop to the data centre, including CRM and mobile phone support, a service desk, managed Citrix desktops, managed Microsoft Exchange 2010 email, systems monitoring, storage and backup.

The firm’s systems will be hosted at BSG’s data centre where they will be accessible to Lyceum Capital users 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Aylwin added, “We look forward to BSG providing us with a reliable and flexible IT infrastructure that can keep pace with our requirements.”
