Ukl purhasers can pre-order the device from Apple's dedicated webpage.

It comes with free delivery and expected to be shipped in time for May 28.

Apple is offering a Wi-Fi only device, which is available in either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB capacities. Alternatively a Wi-Fi and 3G version is also available in the same capacities.

Last week Apple revealed the Pad will cost £429 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model, while the 32GB and 64GB versions will be priced at £499 and £599 respectively.

Meanwhile, the 3G models cost from £529 for the 16GB model, £599 for 32GB and £699 for 64GB. All prices include VAT.

Apple has added a £100 premium for the addition of 3G functionality.

The news comes as both O2 and Orange announced mobile data plans specifically for iPad owners.
