Telegraph Media Group will use Google Apps, in a bid to save costs and improve accessibility to emails and documents.
The move forms part of steps taken by the group, which publishes the Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph and the Telegraph website, to increasingly use cloud computing.
It will implement Google Apps Premier Edition. Employees at the company will be able to access emails and files on any internet-enabled device, using Google Mail, Google Talk and Google Docs.
Telegraph Media decided to use the applications following a six month trial.
Paul Cheesbrough, chief information officer at the company, said: “The deal is also a key part of our plan to move [Telegraph Media Group] towards a 'cloud computing' model - where many of our business applications will be securely accessible online, from anywhere with an Internet connection.”
“This will be of particular benefit to our journalists and commercial teams when they're on the move and outside of our main offices."
