Certified secure programming course reaches UK

The UK’s first EC-Council Certified Secure Programmer course has been launched by
Firebrand Training, formerly known as The Training Camp.

The ECSP qualification is aimed at programmers and developers responsible for designing and building applications in various programming languages or architectures, including those from Microsoft, Linux, Sun, Oracle and IBM.

The aim of the course is to give students the skills to build applications with greater stability and provides developers with best practice methodology for ensuring applications are created from with security in mind at all times.

The five-day Accelerated Learning course exposes students to the security drawbacks and pitfalls that can be experienced when developing or installing new software. It also equips students with the knowledge to prevent hackers exploiting vulnerabilities by adopting secure coding practices.

“Hacking techniques are getting smarter by the second. An organisation cannot afford to take two years to secure its software,” said Rob Chapman, CEO at Firebrand Training. “When it comes to security breaches, the attitude should be that prevention is better than the cure.” he added.
