Oracle chief leaves to join London-based data distribution firm

Push Technology, a London-based company that specialises in data distribution tools, has appointed Oracle’s technical director, Dr Andy Piper, as its new chief technology officer (CTO).
Piper had been leading development in Oracle Complex Event Processing, as well as driving global product strategy and innovation. He has also previously worked for BEA Systems.
As newly appointed CTO, Piper will be responsible for a team of engineers that work on Push’s Diffusion platform, which claims to enable multi-channel solutions that deliver real-time data on demand.
“Data and how we use it has never been more important. In an always connected world it is critical that businesses create unique experiences for customers, build markets and gain insights instantly. Traditional approaches do not allow for this instant insight, and have not fully utilised the power of the internet,” said Piper.
“Push Technology is changing this possibility, and is at the forefront of the industry in its ability to deliver real time data.”
He added: “It is an exciting time to be a part of this company, and this industry, and I look forward to driving the continued innovation in Diffusion.”
In other Oracle news, it was revealed this week that CEO Larry Ellison’s pay package for fiscal 2012 has been valued at a whopping $96 million.
