Guardian News & Media (GNM) has hired Colin Davis as its new IT director, following a restructure of the technology team.
Davis has held positions in IT at FT.com and Chrysalis Digital Media, but was most recently serving as technology and production director of Digital Editions at The Economist.
He will be responsible for supporting and developing technology to fulfil GNM’s commercial and editorial ambitions of being a ‘digital first’ publication going forward.
Davis will join GNM in September and will report to chief executive director, Sheila Fitzsimons.
He will be replacing GNMs current technology director, Andy Beale, who will leave the company next month and is said to be currently assessing a number of options.
