Yorkshire Bank customers are unable to receive payments as an IT glitch continues to affect services following days of problems.

Reports of payment issues at the bank began on Saturday, with more customers taking to Twitter today complaining of more disruption.

“Yorkshire Bank in meltdown and can't make P/P payments,” said Chrissie Freeth. Another customer, Lee Simpson said: "Yorkshire Bank need to get their fingers out and sort the technical issues out."

A statement from the bank was posted by one user. It said: “We are currently experiencing problems with the overnight processing of transactions for Yorkshire Bank customers.

“This means that your account may not show any payments or withdrawals that were due to go through overnight, such as salary credit or standing orders.

“We’re trying to fix it as quickly as possible and expect this to be resolved by early afternoon. We will update you as soon as we know more.

ComputerworldUK has contacted the bank but is yet to receive any confirmation of the problems, what services have been affected, or the cause.

The bank's customers have experienced a number of IT failures in the past, with the failure to renew its domain name responsible for blocking access to online banking services last year.
