SAP UK & Ireland User Group to influence BusinessObjects charter

BusinessObjects users in the UK and Ireland are being invited to play an influential role in the development of the software by joining the SAP user group.

The SAP UK & Ireland User Group will play a key part in the global SAP BusinessObjects charter, run by the global SAP User Group Executive Network (SUGEN).

The aim of the charter, according to the SAP UK & Ireland User Group, is to “increase engagement” between SAP and user groups so that customers’ needs are better addressed.

Craig Dale, chief executive at the SAP UK & Ireland User Group, told Computerworld UK that “many customers” still do not see BusinessObjects as an SAP company, and that the "vast majority are probably not aware" of the SAP user group and what it offered them.

Those users are missing out on the benefits of joining up to the SAP user group – including accessing the company’s product plans, he said, and interacting with other users.

“Through the charter the aim is to understand what BusinessObjects users want from SAP and from the user groups,” he added, “so that we are then able to provide them with the education, influence and networking opportunities they desire.”

The first initiative of the charter is a customer survey, which has been distributed to all BusinessObjects users worldwide. The survey will collect information on the needs of customers including education, networking and product influence.

Subsequent initiatives will then be based on the survey results, in order to improve SAP BusinessObjects service offerings throughout the user group community.
