The latest figures show that almost 10 percent of firms with more than 1,000 employees' contracts are 10Mbps or less.
Overall, 39 percent of UK firms support their business with this speed.
Less than half of firms with over 1,000 staff use 100Mbps and the figure drops to 7.6 percent for the UK average.
2. Surprising proportion of large businesses say they do not have an ERP
Only 65.6 percent of firms with over 1,000 staff said they had an ERP.
Just 11.6 percent of all firms in the UK said they used one.
ERP's were defined as: "One or a set of software applications that integrate information and processes across several functions within the business, eg planning, procurement, sales, marketing, customer relations, finance or human resources."
3. Fewer than 20 percent of manufacturers have bought cloud computing software over the internet
They showed that only 2.2 percent of manufacturers bought IaaS (computing capacity to run the firm’s own applications). Cloud-based CRM systems also had a low uptake of just 3.3 percent.
Almost half of all manufacturing firms said “insufficient knowledge or expertise” was the main reason they are not using cloud products or services.
The most cloud-savvy were information and communication and utilities firms - 65 percent and 30 percent of which are using cloud software, respectively.
98.7 percent of large firms have their own website, and 79.7 percent overall.
But less than half of enterprises have an online ordering/reservation or booking feature. Less than 20 percent of firms of all sizes offer this online feature.
