JPEG Saver is a screensaver which displays a slideshow of your own digital images. Windows has its own "My Pictures", "Photos" or "Photo Gallery" screensaver which can do something similar, of course, but JPEG Saver is far more powerful.

The program doesn't just support one source folder, for instance. You can add as many as you need. There's an option to include subfolders, as well. And you can have JPEG Saver select images based on their width, height, size, created/ modified date, and more.

Pictures will then be displayed in your preferred on-screen position, maybe with custom colour or gamma settings, resized as required, with a range of possible backgrounds (single colours, gradients, images, more), optionally in a different screen mode (you can choose both resolution and refresh rate).

And there's still more. Like 72 excellent transitions. The ability to include "extras" on the display, like a logo, clock, image information, or track data from popular media players. You can even run the program interactively, like a slideshow, so for example pressing the left or right arrow will display the previous or next image.

This can seem a little overwhelming, at least if you go exploring every feature. Even something as basic as defining the slideshow background gives you 13 possible options, each of which can have up to six further settings.

Fortunately, the default settings work just fine. All you have to do initially is point JPEG Saver at your source folders, and that's enough to immediately enjoy many of its benefits. Everything else can be added or tweaked as required, whenever you'd like to customise the screen saver a little further.
